The White House proposed the military pay raise for the 2021. The newly proposed pay raise is going to be effective once it is finalized starting from January 1st, 2021.
The proposed military pay raise for 2021 is 3.0%. The proposed pay raise is almost the same as the last year’s raise which was 3.1%. The 3.0% pay raise is interesting because if it were to be passed, it will be the first time in over 10 years the military pay raise is 3% and over in consecutive years.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the military pay raise may take on a toll as other agencies are in need of urgent funds. The military pay raise is far over what was proposed for federal civilian workers. A portion of this increase may fall to the federal workers’ pocket. Considering some of the military operations are also designed to help other agencies amidst coronavirus crisis, the 3.0% pay raise may be passed.
At the time of writing, it is too early to tell whether or not the 3.0% pay raise is going to be finalized. It should be finalized by the time October 1st arrives so we only have a couple of weeks for the military pay raise to be finalized.
As soon as the military pay raise for the 2021 is finalized, we will keep you updated. If the pay raise were to be 3.0%, here is how the military pay chart 2021 will look like. See the pay tables from here.
